Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Plan Locations

The RTA Community Planning program offers technical assistance and funding to local governments and intergovernmental organizations to address local planning needs that intersect public transportation and land use. This application displays the locations of RTA Community Planning Projects  in Northeastern Illinois by the study status: Completed, In Progress, or Proposed.

Use the slider in the middle of the page to pan between the datasets. The application uses land use data created by CMAP.

Population and Employment Statistics and Projections

This application allows users to create custom areas (buffer or freehand polygon) to obtain CMAP current and projected population and employment statistics for the years 2020, 2030, and 2050. This map provides useful projection data to help assess future impacts and needs for the region.

Regional Demographics

This application displays demographic information developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) which is derived from the 2010 U.S. Census. The data is displayed at several different geographies based on the users zoom level. The data is managed and served by ESRI's Online Data Service. This map provides useful insights to the RTA’s dynamic and diverse area.
